From a Private Retreat to a Public Stage: Birthing a Movement

Wonder of Women was birthed from a private retreat in a private home on a private park in the Greater Seattle area, Easter weekend in March, 2016. Twelve women came together for a retreat weekend, with no idea they were birthing a global movement for women and girls!

Women came from Seattle, DC, Baltimore, Detroit, Las Vegas and Los Angeles without knowing what to expect or even what they would do for the next three days. Without notes or bullet points--- just a request to play their life soundtrack; speak truthfully and listen unselfishly. The atmosphere was set, faces bare with no makeup and cell phones parked the transparency begin! Before they knew it--- story telling became truth telling and an unbreakable bond of sisterhood.

On June 25, 2016 we shared our private experience publicly on stage with over 600 people in attendance at Seattle Town Hall. Their stories were presented with live painting, music, poetry and dance. This event inaugurated WOW and sparked a fire of inspiration for women from Seattle, WA, all the way to South Africa!

"Having worked with women of different races, cultures, religions, various political viewpoints, class, position and status, I've come to know that we all desire and need the very same thing. Our vision is to influence a paradigm shift that inspires women all over the world to leverage their pain, trauma and major life lessons into love, light and liberation. We believe this shift can only take place when we find our voice, boldly face our truth and confidently celebrate our wonder by telling our story." said Veronica Very, Founder & Visionary, Wonder of Women
