About The Event
Ayyyye! We celebrate Black History every day, every year! WOW Gallery IS Black History that opened with a White Party Juneteenth Weekend. Sooooo, for Black history month we are celebrating Blackness with The Black Party.
YOU are cordially invited to join us for this illustrious affair dressed to impress in all Black attire! Bring your woman. Bring your man.
We will have a DJ spinning spinning great music with acoustic entertainment provided by grammy award winning jazz trumpeter Owuor Arunga.
Owuor was born in Kisumu in Kenya and moved to New York in the early 2000s, where he studied in The New School's Jazz & Contemporary Music Program. Some of the artist he's played amongst or apprenticed with include Charlie Persip, Candido Camero, Billy Bang, The Cadillacs, Robert Glasper, Louis Reyes Rivera, Olu Dara, Jimmy Owens, and Chico Freeman.
