Dr. Mona Lake Jones

"Dear Sisters, Vanilla, cinnamon, and dark chocolate brown, I see you! As a poet, when I first wake up in the morning and watch the copper colored sun peek over the horizon wearing her orange silk dress, gold sequined Jacker and that bright red wide brimmed hat, I see your beauty. I am priveleged to describe your courage, stamina and resilience as you navigate to become the best you! I am delighted to tell you how you turn to buckle the boots of others about to make their journey. I see you getting stronger from the exercise of lifting others. I document your sheroic contributions and honor sisters for being culture bearers, storytellers and especially the models and mothers for our children. I applaud when your love for yourself and others is so easily recognized. I am now an octogenarian and our family matriarch with a pen in my hand and a voice to share with the audiences. I am thankful to have discovered my gifts. I promise to continue celebrating YOU!"
