Dr. Consuelo Grier serves as the Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for Bellevue College, and Founder of Brave Space, LLC as well as the Equity & Diversity Officer Collective. Dr. Grier is an experienced non-profit and higher education leader with nearly 25 years of experience advancing equity and access for historically excluded and marginalized populations. As a mother and life-long learner, her commitment to infusing equity and inclusion in all areas of leadership has spurred her interest and passion for working across the education spectrum from K-12 and postsecondary education. As a researcher, Dr. Grier has subject matter expertise in transformational leadership with a focus on the experiences of Black and brown leaders in higher education. She is currently studying the role of strategic rest for leaders. Dr. Grier provides thought leadership, partnership, and executive level coaching on issues of equity, access, and support across the country to educational organizations, nonprofits, businesses, government, and executive leaders.
