Tanya Hutchins

Tanya Hutchins is a multimedia journalist and Communications Representative with the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers (IAMAW). She worked as a broadcast journalist for more than 10 years in Columbus, Ohio before moving to Washington, D.C. After a couple short stints doing traffic reports for Washington and Baltimore TV stations, 


Tanya joined the Machinists Union. She is also a member of SAG-AFTRA and occasionally hosts TV programs, industrial training videos or acts as a reporter or background actor in films. In her spare time Tanya wrote Charity & Volunteerism articles for the now defunct Examiner.com in D.C.


Tanya was born in Queens, grew up in White Plains, N.Y. and earned her B.S. in Broadcast Journalism from Ithaca College. She is also an avid still photographer and some of her photos are featured in her children's book, Born Beautiful Biracial.

Tanya has a special place in her heart for people who give back to the community through volunteerism or random acts of kindness.
