Service Description

Food as Medicine: The power of plant-based nutrition to prevent, reverse, and treat disease. Have you been curious about transitioning to a more plant-forward diet but don’t know how to start? Have you or a family member been diagnosed with: diabetes, pre-diabetes, high cholesterol or high blood pressure? Are you interested in learning about plant foods that help improve your stress hormone levels? If you have answered yes to any of the above questions then our Food as Medicine: The power of plant-based nutrition to prevent, reverse, and treat disease is the three part class series for YOU. Dr. Margaret Towolawi, a Seattle based family physician and lifestyle medicine physician, will be our course instructor. This three part series will be informative and hands-on. Participants will be given a workbook with practical tips, shop at a local grocery store in real time with the doctor, watch an educational film, make your own tea blends and more! We hope that you will spring into action to take charge of your health this season with us at the Wow Gallery! Schedule: Day 1 - April 8th: 10:00am - 12:30pm Lesson 1: Setting the Framework - Introduction to Lifestyle Medicine; Plantwise film screening Day 2 - April 15th: 10:00am - 12:30pm Lesson 2: Practical tips to transitioning to a more plant-based diet.
